Covering 227,600 square kilometres, Victoria is Australia's second smallest state. Its capital, Melbourne, is located on the banks of the Yarra River, about 5 kilometres from the shores of Port Phillip Bay.

Some places of interest in Victoria...

Gold was found in Clunes in 1851 and within 3 months 8,000 people converged on the area. Nine months later 30,000 and four years on 100,000 people were in the Goldfields region.

Built to honour World War I servicemen in 1932, the Great Ocean Road along Victoria’s southwest coast, offers more than 250 kilometres of breathtaking scenery, including The Twelve Apostles.

Even though they're not high enough to have a permanent cover of snow, the expanse of rolling wooded peaks of the Victorian Alps in the northeast sees thousands of people flock to the area summer and winter.

Local and visiting international pilots should also check out the Victorian Hang-gliding and Paragliding Association (VHPA) website.

Be one step ahead... look ahead. Think about where you are about to fly. Don't let your glider take you somewhere you haven't already visited with foresight, and don't forget to enjoy the view!
